ADVANTAGES
OF LASER MONITOR OVER LED MONITORS
- Only opacity
monitor which does not have to be removed from stack while flue gas
is present to perform an
all component "Clear Stack Zero" set.
- Utilizes a
Helium-Neon Green Laser thus less prone to ambient light
interference than conventional LED sources since laser operates with
a clearly defined known wavelength making the theoretical
calculations and their results more predictable. Conventional LED sources
operate over a broad range of wavelengths and produce spectrum
changes with age. Laser
light is also not affected by moisture content of the particle due
to an effect called “extinction”. Forward or backward light
scatter is dramatically reduced due to narrow beam diameter and the
single pass principle, Laser is on average 5mm in diameter which
will allow opacity beam to always stay on detector target. Conventional opacities use an
overfill method therefore any drift in the
beam may cause inaccuracies.
- Cemtrex laser Monitor
will compensate for zero and dirty window drift 40 times per second
instead of conventional method of once per day. This allows for accurate and
consistent readings continuously.
- Filter Audit
can be accomplished with opacity unit on stack without having to
utilize expensive jigs or even move the opacity monitor. This is accomplished
by passing the laser light through fiber optic light pipe which is
routed on outside of stack and is not affected by stack opacity.
- Actually performs
zero and dirty window calibration utilizing actual detector and not
a mirror.
- Can utilize
plant instrument air source for purging requirements. Only need 5-8 CFM for most
applications. Bulky
blower fans are therefore not required.
- Very small and
compact design therefore making the monitor much lighter.
- Up to 300’
path length can be accomplished.
- Monitor is standard
with both Opacity and Particulate measurements. Unit can display both Opacity
and Particulate measurements simultaneously.
- Opacity monitor
can be located on any diameter stack without having to re-program or
re-calibrate system.
This can be done since laser light is not affected by path
length as conventional LED monitors are. This means that customer can conveniently
move their opacity to different locations at any time if needed.
- Unit does not
require an off stack zero upon installation therefore a clear stack condition
is not needed to begin valid opacity measurements.
- Can be used on
stacks with temperatures as high as 1200 F.
- Optional Opacity Monitor LaserSoft
Data Acquisition & Reporting System available. A low cost alternative to
bulky chart paper recorders or other full DAS’s for data
storing and reporting.
